I got a mail from Google.
It was something that they said they had sent to me about 20 days ago, but I just got it. That’s cause it came by regular post. That’s right; SNAIL MAIL.
This is the mail they send to you once your adsense account reaches $10.00. Mine just did, hence the mail. It is for verifying the address of the adsense subscriber so that your payments can be sent to you via cheque (check for all you Americans). That they will only send to you when your account balance reaches $100.00.
For me, thats gonna take some time, since I have only seriously started blogging only recently and have actually started devoting any serious time to this activity. But hey, its good to know that I am a verified subscriber and that whenever I reach $100, I will get it. Provided I am living in the same place.
Must be quite an expense for Google to be sending out all these hard copy mails to all over the world. I can just imagine the scene at the Google office:
Mailroom Guy 1: Dude we gotta send out 234,987 mails to people!
Mailroom Guy 2: So… Mail merge dude!
Mailroom Guy 1: Cant… Have to send out regular mails… you know post them…
Mailroom Guy 2: Huh?
Mailroom Guy 1: You know like… your gramdma used to do…
Mailroom Guy 2: Oh… Should we like… call her or something?
Mailroom Guy 1: Yeah cause the postal deparment sez we gotta put stamps on them.
Mailroom Guy 2: Have we printed out the stamps?
Mailroom Guy 1: We don’t print stamps.
