Android Apps: WordPress

This post had a dual purpose. Firstly, since i have been ranting a lot about Swype all over the internet, I wanted to see if I can actually do any real articles on the phone of any decent length. Secondly, I wanted to also write about WordPress for Android. That’s what I am writing this post on.

WordPress for Android allows you to connect to all your blogs that are using WordPress, and view the posts, comments and pages that are present in that blog. You can manage these, choosing various actions that you can carry out on the same.

The functionality basically stops there. Its taken me about 10 minutes to write this much content. I am certain that i can go on for much longer. However, at the end of it all, I would rather use this software for quickly taking down post ideas rather than trying to Swype out complete articles. The basic functionality provided by this software manages that very well.

This is not an “official” WordPress release and I hope that they do release their version which is faster than this one, since that’s the only gripe I have with this one.

As far as Swype goes, its fine. A lot easier to use than even the physical keyboard that I had on my Kjam. Since its a single finger software, I can change the finger that I am using in case one gets tired.

Wow I'm impressed. That is a long post. I think the only real purpose that app would serve is moderating comments for people who get a lot of them and maybe posting photos and such.

@sharninder The app is a little slow. Takes time to get the details and lists from your account. Maybe its a wordpress thing, which is also quite slow in my opinion.
